Before You, Setup Yahoo Mail In Outlook, Prepare Your Yahoo Account

Basic Requirements To Setup Yahoo Mail In Outlook

  • To begin, make a copy of your Yahoo account for safekeeping. This will help to ensure that no important data is lost.
  • Accept Outlook logins for Yahoo. However, whether or not it works relies entirely on whether or not you’ve enabled two-step verification.

Two-Step Verification Enabled? Generate An App Password

If you have two-step verification enabled on your Yahoo account, you may create a Yahoo Mail app password. Use this password instead of your Yahoo Mail sign-in password when configuring Outlook. It’s straightforward.

No Two-Step Verification Enabled?

If you’re not interested in setting two-step verification for your Yahoo account and don’t use it, you may enable email users to sign in using their Yahoo account sign-in password. Here’s what you’ll have to do:

  • To begin, sign in to your Yahoo Mail account using the right username and password.
  • Select “Account Info” from the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the page.
  • After that, go to “Account Security” and click the button.
  • Toggle the “Allow applications that employ less secure sign-in” option now. When you turn the toggle to the On position, the toggle will become blue.
  • Now that Outlook can sign in to your Yahoo Mail account, you’re ready to set up Yahoo Mail in Outlook. Turn off “Allow applications that utilize less secure sign-in” by following the first three outlined procedures and then turning off the option.
